Schaeffer asserts the return to America's Judeo-Christian foundation in spirituality and government.
A transcript of his Coral Ridge lecture by the same title is available here and two versions at different locations are available in video here, or you may watch our playlist below.
In contrast to documents like the atheistic Communist Manifesto and the Humanist Manifesto, Schaeffer seeks to establish a manifesto that solidifies the Christian worldview. Some have accused Schaeffer of "going political" in his later books, however Schaeffer indicates in his preface that this is just another natural step forward in conveying the Lordship of Christ in all things.

Keywords: Reformation, John Knox"Knox is rightly thought of as a radical reformer. There is, however, an important distinction to keep in mind concerning him. Throughout his ministry, Knox appealed for moderation and compromise whenever truly fundamental issues were not at stake." ~ Dr. Francis Schaeffer, A Christian Manifesto
Keywords: culture, society, government, law, church"Most fundamentally, our culture, society, government, and law are in the condition they are in, not because of a conspiracy, but because the church has forsaken its duty to be the salt of the culture." ~ Dr. Francis Schaeffer, A Christian Manifesto
Keywords: humanism, culture, drift"...we are indeed very, very far down the road toward a totally humanistic culture. At this moment we are in a humanistic culture, but we are happily not in a totally humanistic culture. But what we must realize is that the drift has been all in this direction." ~ Dr. Francis Schaeffer, A Christian Manifesto
Keywords: government, tyranny, separation of church and state"William Penn (1644-1718) had expressed ... 'If we are not governed by God, then we will be ruled by tyrants.' This consensus was as natural as breathing in the United States at that time. We must not forget that many of those who came to America from Europe came for religious purposes. As they arrived, ~ Dr. Francis Schaeffer, A Christian Manifesto.

In this explosive book, Francis Schaeffer shows why morality and freedom have crumbled in our society. He calls for a massive movement-in government, law, and all of life-to reestablish our Judeo-Christian foundation and turn the tide of moral decadence and loss of freedom.
A Christian Manifesto is literally a call for Christians to change the course of history-by returning to biblical Truth and by allowing Christ to be Lord in all of life.
